Reengagement Programs - School Level

Engaging in physical activity what helps calm the mind, creates clarity, reduces anxiety and works towards focus and respect. 
Time Out Club 
have you or someone you know struggling at school, been getting overwhelmed or close to suspension and honestly they just need a break?
This program has been created to give the participant a safe environment to perform minimal tasks, engage in some physical activity and help show understanding for the choices made at school. It gives you somewhere to go and regroup for the day.

1 Hour - Individual or Group
Breakfast Club
Come and start the day with activities that will help give you clarity and focus for the day ahead. 
You will be apart of the team that will feed horses, muck yards and make sure the horses have enough water for the day. Then it will be on to cooking up a great breakfast and get you going for the day. 



1 - 1.5 Hours - Group
Lunch Club 
Has the morning been tough and you want to have a productive afternoon? Lunch Club is for you. Come and join us to groom some horses and clean their yards - a bit of work to help clam the mind and refocus, then help cook and eat lunch. Let's replenish you for a fulfilling afternoon. 




1 Hour - Group

The world is a big place but let us help you learn important life skills that we wish we had know before coming into the adult world.

  - Goal Setting 
  - Time Management & Planning

Personal & Work Ready Program
Teaching Skills that will assist with the transition to adulthood and lead into your first job, secondry educatior or adult life.  
We will work partisipents through needed skills such as:
  - Presentation
  - Body Language
  - Personal Hyginene
  - Presentation & Make-up
  - Diet & Nutrition
  - Resume Writing 
and they will be given oppertinities to volunteer in: 
  - Food Handling Course
  - Event Management
  - Cooking & Catering
  - Food Van 
These oppertunties can lead to letters of support and be added to your Resume.

Horsemanship
Groundwork with horses

We teach the participant to communicate with positive reinforcement to the horse whilst on the ground in a safe environment. 

Participants will learn to work the horses over obstacles, bridges, poles and direct the horses in the direction they are wanting.

Riding Program
Horse riding is a great way to gain many life skills and develop a strong foundation for life. 
In riding, we work on balance, fine & gross motor skills, independence, physical and mental development. As well as gaining self-confidence, respect and passion.

Individual Only. Age Group: 7yrs + 
Whipcracking Programs
Learn how to make a bang and show off a unique Australian skill. Whipcraking helps teach participant patience, direction and self-confidence. 

Small to Large Groups or Individual.
Age Groups: 7-11yrs. 12-17yrs. 17yrs+

Personal Development Program
EAL - Equine Assisted Learning
This leadership program focusses on interpersonal skills, personal development, self-empowerment and communication. 

Working with Jess, participants will work on many topics including: 
 - Self-Awareness
 - Self-Management
 - Social Awareness
 - Relationship Skills
 - Decision Making Skills

2 Hours per week/10-week program.

Para Equestrian Clinics
These clinics are for riders with a physical disability. We want to work on the whole picture both on and off the horse, thous create a holistic view for the athlete and their team. We look to empower and inspire people with disabilities to achieve activities that traditional is not available to those with a disability. Let's create abilities! 

Open Gate will be liaising with health, allied health, disability and recreation specialists to promote the health and development of your equine pursuits. 

These Clinics are based on The Equine Pathways Australia Inc in Victoria.

RDA Development Club
Riding for the Disabled Association runs a National competition every second year and an SA State Championships and Mounted Games Event each year. 

We have had a history in helping riders ain for Nationals in Dressage, Showjumping and Working trails. 

Riders can develop riding & competition skills. 

Small to Large Groups or Individuals. 
Age Groups: 4yrs+ for training 8yrs+ for competitive. 12yrs+ for National Level Competition.
